COYOTE KARRICK

How we experience life depends on how we relate to the present moment – a point in time that can be our friend and launchpad if we know how to allow it.  It’s a life long adventure, but there are simple practices that can assist us in living a satisfying life at every crossroads. – Coyote Karrick

I am a Certified Integral Coach by New Ventures West in San Francisco, a professional year-long course and Accredited Coach Training Program by the International Coach Federation (ICF).

I have worked in the field of human development for 14 years and provided counseling, workshops, and leadership training to hundreds of people. I always had an interest in how far we can go to respond to and shape our life experiences.  Coaching is the fastest way to experience new levels of growth, freedom, and happiness that I have encountered.  I have been fortunate to work with some incredible people and organizations in the field of human development on my way to becoming a coach.

A lead instructor at Outward Bound, I guided people and teams of people through extremely challenging situations (storms, rock-climbing, sailing, drastic conditions – heat and cold, etc.)  in order to experience their capacity to go beyond what they thought possible.

As a founding member of a private boarding school in New Hampshire (Shortridge Academy), I designed leadership and personal growth curriculum for struggling teens, facilitated workshops, and coached professionally successful parents on relationship skills.

In these intense life changing experiences I saw so many people surpass limitations and find greater happiness only to run into new barriers. I became interested in furthering my own study and the question, “What empowers people to consistently live and attract the experiences they seek?”

I was a Biology major at Smith College with an interest in Public Policy, Economics, and Cultural Anthropology (basically everything about how individuals and systems operate).  After ten years of working in the filed of human development, I started to pursue a Masters degree in counseling at the University of Washington, but was surprised where my path took a turn.

On an intuitive impulse, I hired a fellow Smith College graduate in Seattle, Dream Big Coaching, to coach me on my next step. I immediately saw the fit. The forward focus of coaching, it’s integrated nature, and pragmatic emphasis on experience was exactly what I was looking for. I withdrew from the graduate program and enrolled in the year long intensive training in coaching in San Francisco (New Ventures West).  I was certified in front of a panel of professional coaches in 2007, and started my own practice.

My life continues to improve as a result of Integral Coaching.  I’m always studying and implementing ideas and practices for new possibilities in my own life.  The results are exciting and tangible.  For example, I fell in love last year and I can’t be happier (I am very grateful to all the experience that helped me become ready for this relationship!).

I am also a writer, photographer, sailor, traveler, and adrenaline geek. I love laughter and people, children, art, movies, and spectator sports (like World Cup Soccer and college basketball).  I am passionate about all kinds of dance (Zumba, Samba, & Tango), motorcycles, meditation, dogs, my love, family and friends.

Feel free to check out my blog, tweets, or contact me to learn more and set up a free session on the phone.

When you’ve exhausted all possibilities, remember this – you haven’t.
